The
essential instrument to find the source of your problem
When
a problem occurs on a pH/mV
controller,
it is often difficult to identify the origin of the
problem. Thanks to simulator HI 931001, the user can
now check itself the state of his material. It is enough
to connect the simulator to the instrument, to fix by
the potentiometer a value of pH and ORP given and to
compare the two liquid crystal displays.
Differences
between standard & amplified pH/ORP electrodes
The traditional pH meters use signals of strong
impedance because of the strong resistivity of the membranes
of the glass electodes. A bad insulation of the connector
and cable accentuate the sensitivity of the electrode
to the background noise and moisture and thus disturb
measurement. It is thus advisable to look after connections
and not to exceed a length of cable of more than 10
meters. For higher distances, insulated apparatuses
and shielded cables are necessary. Often complex and
expensive, this solution does not bring a real satisfaction.
The amplifier integrated into the electrode makes it
possible to concentrate the problem due to a strong
impedance in a zone. The circuit of strong impedance,
then completely insulated, is concentrated at the end
of the electrode. It results that a signal of low impedance
is transmitted to the measuring apparatus. Thus ordinary
connectors, not armoured cables and a traditional pH
meter can be used. This considerable progress benefits
the installations particularly from industrial processes.
Its double junction reference system avoids the fast
clogging of the diaphragm.
